The Role

Working within the European Property Management team, you will be responsible for developing and leading the sustainability strategies and play a key role in driving environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability initiatives for the European portfolio of office, logistics and student accommodation assets

Job Responsibilities


  • Assist with developing the sustainability framework, roadmap and timeline for the business unit including the implementation of alternative sources of energy and energy saving initiatives (identifying preferred partners to deliver the projects).
  • Evaluate, explore and assist with rolling out, managing and monitoring sustainability initiatives within the business unit and across the regional portfolio (indicate the countries involved), working closely with the property and asset managers.
  • Manage ESG disclosures, benchmarking and reporting trends for the European portfolio including collection of data/information to assist with the company’s annual report and other such sustainability disclosures, as well as ESG queries from investors.
  • Work with the EUSA Sustainability Steering Council and Group Sustainability on ESG matters.
  • Responsible for working with, and reporting across multiple business units to create a pan-European approach to ESG projects/initiatives.
  • Drive training and change management processes for the European portfolio to improve data consistency and viability.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in a business setting with focus on environment, sustainability or related roles, ideally with a real estate background.
  • Experience with Green House Gas (GHG), Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmarking (GRESB) and/or other corporate reporting programmes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of green building certifications and the ESG environment in Europe, in particular European regulations, procurement of solar/green energy etc.
  • Proficient in comprehensive Sustainability Reporting.
  • Highly motivated self-starter that can operate independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage operations and projects simultaneously.
  • Professional working levels of English is essential for this role to communicate with the regional stakeholders.
