The Role

 

This position will provide early cost planning advice based on concept design of development project pipeline across Mapletree regional business in Vietnam.

Job Responsibilities

 

Supporting the Vice President, Cost and Contracts, you will assist in the pre and post contract and administration services (during construction) activities of the business unit across the regions.

  • Contract Management:
    • Implement appropriate procurement strategy for each development project to ensure and control the consistency and standardisation in the application of RFP, Invitation to Tender, LOA and CSA etc. across the regions.
    • Support the project teams across the regions in the preparation of related tender documents (Request For Proposal [RFP], Invitation to Tender, Letter of Award [LOA], Construction Contracts, Consultancy Service Agreements [CSA] etc.) and the review and evaluation of variations and/or contractual claims, where required.
    • Ensure Legal sign-off/clearance of projects’ RFP, Invitation to Tender, Tender Documents especially various regional construction contract, LOA and CSA etc. across the regions.
    • Assist in the assessment of major variation and contractual claims across the regions.
    • Ensure that SAP cost data is maintained and updated on a regular basis (e.g. monthly) and report to SVP of Cost and Contracts.
  • Cost Management:
    • Prepare Concept Design Stage cost plans of various project types across the regions.
    • Ensure the cost plan and pricing for the project reflects and meets the project brief.
    • Ensure any residual risk is included in the project contingency assessment / allowance.
    • Manage/achieve the timely delivery of cost planning deliverables to programme for the concept design in accordance with the overall program and agreed project milestones and through to obtaining GDM sign-off/clearance as required.
    • Assist in data mining and capture of knowledge regarding the cost and technical aspects of building and services and update knowledge banks in the business.

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Good subject matter knowledge across the functions of design, project management and the building process of development projects.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a professional office or construction organisation, preferably with working knowledge of design and build projects.
  • Familiar with local and international construction contracts, such as SIA, Redas, PSSCOC, PAM, FIDIC, JCT etc.
  • Experience in commercial, retail, residential, industrial and logistics project types across the regions.
  • Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders, as well as people management skills.
  • Planning, organising and controlling skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively on tight deadlines.
  • Continuous and incremental improvement mindset, questioning and challenging status quo to achieve a better outcome.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills which will include for resolving of cost planning, contracts procurement and administration issues for various construction and design activities.
  • Dynamic, pro-active and ability to work and deliver results under pressure.
