The Role

 

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of environmental strategies either for our operating assets (portfolio) in Vietnam.  You will work with various department/business heads to address the actual initiatives and works required in order to further environmental efforts and the implementation of sustainability projects. You will also help consolidate the portfolio reporting requirements in consultation with Group Property Management in the sustainability reporting to Group. The role also includes working tightly with the individual assets to provide alignment and assistance to ensure accuracy of data collection/collation and providing hands on assistance where needed.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct site assessments and producing reports for sustainability areas or environmental concerns. This includes working with properties to ensure data collection and reporting requirements are not onerous
  • In like manner, interface and work with Group Property Management on sustainability initiatives and sustainability reporting requirements; ensuring that are aligned across the BU
  • Recommend suitable data harnessing, gathering technologies and tools to reduce workload
  • Translates sustainability strategies into actionable initiatives to be suitably applied at the property level – for each property in the portfolio
  • Evaluate the efficacy of the environmental sustainability programs; establish KPIs to monitor performance and implements improvements as necessary. In doing so, interface with portfolio sustainability officers to ensure accuracy of reporting and query/interface with Group to ensure workload of portfolio are not unduly impacted
  • Able to translate sustainability requirements into SOPs for ground implementation
  • Knowledgeable in sustainability programs, including physical energy efficiency and other sustainability technologies, Green Mark certification (both old and new), GRESB (preferred) and ISO14001
  • Considers environmental sustainability proposals with attention to factors such as cost effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration with various operational needs
  • Drafts and prepares reports, presentations, and proposals; presents proposals and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders
  • Track and report measurements as required by regulations or directions from Corporate Sustainability team
  • Able to train and advocate sustainability efforts through workshops and training is preferred
  • Ability to work with various development teams to ensure environmental sustainability initiatives are in place and actively tracked and reported as required
  • Identify and facilitate training as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree holder with at least 3-5 years of proven experience in managing environmental sustainability scope of work in a corporate environment
  • Certified Energy Manager with LEED AP/ Vietnam CEM/ BREEAM certification and/or equivalent related to sustainability genre of study will be added advantage
  • Mechanical engineering background with strong experience in controls and cooling efficiency is essential
  • Experience in project management, program management, environmental sustainability management including operation and maintenance of installed system
  • Experience in carbon reduction programs (both embodied and emissions) and renewable energy
  • Experience in regulatory knowledge and requirements for BCA Greenmark, ISO14001 and GRESB
  • Creative and able to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to execute multiple projects and excel in a results-oriented environment
