Senior Manager, Projects, Group Development Management (Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

The Role

 

This position will work with Asset Managers in managing and overseeing all aspects of development works, including overall development management of new developments and existing assets across different sector classes ranging from commercial, retail, residential, industrial and logistics projects.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Assess development design requirements and integrate design briefs to ensure that these are aligned with the Company’s development requirement. 
  • Manage the development planning, project execution; deliverables and all statutory processes from inception through to completion within approved timeline, budget to the required quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate with the design consultants to liaise with relevant authorities in ensuring all designs and development plans are within the Company’s standard and statutory compliance.
  • Manage all procurement and full tender processes in accordance with procurement procedures and policies; as well as construction and contract administration including all related presentation required for clearance and process approvals.
  • Manage all project implementation and execution matters in coordination with consultants, contractors, authorities and all relevant stakeholders including all matters related to risks and any form of variations.
  • Conduct necessary site visits and inspections to track progress and all project-related issues.
  • Manage all communications channels among stakeholders, including required updates and accurate reporting of project issues and status.
  • Enhance on the development design, planning, practices and processes to streamline the project to its optimum performance including all potential value engineering initiatives.
  • Provide strong support as team player, including guidance and coaching while enhancing good relationship with all related stakeholders.

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in Architecture; Architectural-related Building or M&E Engineering related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant development or project management experience in the execution of commercial, retail, residential, industrial and/or logistics projects with strong knowledge of property development processes and practices.
  • Candidate with project management in logistics warehouse projects will be an advantage.
  • Proven track record of successful development projects delivery.
  • Strong on-site/project construction execution experience with problem-solving and critical-thinking skills on top of technical and design capabilities.
  • Possess a high level of independence, initiative, accountability, cultural sensitivity, endurance and adaptability with excellent team management and leadership to drive projects.
  • Strong team player and able to demonstrate effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work on extensive processes under pressure to meet deadlines and works requirement Proficiency and familiarity in project management software and tools such as Ariba, SAP, VIM and MS Projects will be an added advantage.
