The Role

 

This position will be primarily responsible for leading the Group’s Data Centre investment activities across the UK and Europe, including asset acquisitions, development projects and M&A opportunities. The role will involve originating and evaluating opportunities, driving investment execution, and supporting the growth of the Group’s data centre platform in the region.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and drive business strategies for the UK and European data centre markets, including the pursuit and evaluation of new investment and business opportunities.
  • Drive portfolio growth by building strategic relationships with key market participants, operators, developers, advisers and capital partners.
  • Originate and assess data centre investment opportunities, including site feasibility, power availability, connectivity, development risk, tenant demand and market competitiveness.
  • Formulate market entry and exit strategies to optimise returns upon disposition, supported by deep-dive analytical reviews to identify opportunities that enhance profitability and value creation.
  • Develop and implement sound business plans for sourcing acquisition and investment opportunities, including strategies to achieve short- and long-term growth and profit objectives.
  • Lead investment transactions end-to-end, including origination, research, deal evaluation and structuring, financial analysis, financial modelling, approval processes, negotiation and execution.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including development, asset management, legal, finance and tax teams, as well as external advisers, to support transaction execution and portfolio growth.

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Building, Real Estate, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Candidates with Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification would be an added advantage.
  • At least 12 years of relevant working experience in UK and/or European real estate investments, asset acquisitions, development projects and/or M&A transactions.
  • Prior exposure to data centres, infrastructure or related asset classes will be preferred.
  • Resourceful, with strong analytical capability and proficiency in financial modelling.
  • Proven track record in originating, evaluating, underwriting and executing investment transactions.
  • Strong investment, financial and commercial acumen, with experience in site selection, business development and/or development management in data centre property investments preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills, strong initiative, sound business judgement and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
