The Role

 

This position will be responsible for formulating and executing asset management strategies and plans for our student housing assets based in the UK.

Job Requirements

  

  • Degree in Real Estate, Building, Business, Finance, Engineering or its equivalent.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel, able to develop Excel financial models.
  • Sound understanding of the property sector.
  • Experience in / exposure to the student accommodation sector.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant experience in advanced financial modelling / analysis.
  • Strong teamwork and initiative coupled with good business awareness and financial acumen. 

Job Responsibilities

  •  Maintain constant level of interaction with the external parties including property managers and administrators.
  • Preparing, or assisting in the preparation of, approval papers to incur expenditure, appoint external parties and document lease transactions;
  • Liaising with finance and property management teams to ensure all billings are invoiced correctly, fully collected and appropriately accounted for;
  • Monthly non-financial information submitted to Singaporean teams incorporating occupancy reports and tenant uploads combined with explanations on differences and movements;
  • Providing variance analysis to the corporate accounting teams within tight deadlines, while being able to explain any nuances of UK real estate market to all parties;
  • Providing ad hoc budget information to asset managers including update of monthly tenancy changes;
  • Be responsible for analysing, modelling and evaluating asset and portfolio strategies for student housing;
  • Developing financial models for evaluating asset strategies;
  • Collaborating with the Asset Team to analyse, derive portfolio statistics and provide strategic recommendations for the UK student housing portfolio;
  • Conducting research and managing market intelligence relating to UK student housing;
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and reports covering the financial performance, leasing status, and rental collection of the UK student housing portfolio.
