Senior/ Manager, Human Resource, United Kingdom (Based in London)

The Role

You will provide regional Human Resource business partnering support to the Student Housing Business unit and any other assigned Business/ Corporate Unit in UK. You will also be assigned with a UK HR specialisation area of either Talent Management or Learning and Development. You will contribute to the business’ success by building and maintaining a capable workforce. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationship with business unit leaders, team leads and employees to provide advice on HR policies and practices, employee relations issues, people strategies and solutions, as well as all other employee related matters.  
  • Manage and deliver the full HR spectrum from recruitment, manpower planning and budgeting, onboarding, employee engagement, talent management and succession planning, talent development and learning, performance management, rewards, employment relations, exit management as well as cyclical HR programs/ exercises for the assigned Business/ Corporate units.
  • Drive recruitment strategy and processes, advise and partner the business unit to reach recruiting goals.  
  • Drive end-to-end talent acquisition activities that include maintaining job descriptions, posting job openings, conduct intake meetings with hiring managers, identify candidates, screen candidates, schedule interviews, conduct interviews with hiring managers, prepare salary proposals and offer candidates.
  • Lead and drive tactical and strategic HR initiatives to meet business needs, improve staff retention, engagement and development.
  • Manage the roll-out of new talent management initiatives.
  • Manage the Learning and Development strategy and initiatives to help achieve the business objectives, identifying current and future learning needs.
  • Support special HR projects related to Group HR departmental KPIs/initiatives.
  • Help to identify HR trends and best practices to implement where possible and identifies opportunities for efficiencies within the HR function.
  • Provide transactional support to the HR department.
  • Perform administrative HR tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resource or related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant HR business partnering and HR Generalist experience.
  • Prior HR experience working in real estate industry is a must, preferably with the student accommodation/ student living sector.
  • Excellent application knowledge of UK employment legislations.
  • Possess the ability to work well with all levels within an organization, able to manage people as well as being hands-on to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Possess excellent negotiation and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Must have experience with HRIS (preferably SuccessFactors; modules such as RMS, LMS, PMGM and document management systems).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications, Excel in particular.
