The Role

This position will provide Property and Casualty claims support to the US Insurance Team based in New York City.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as main point of contact and provide claims services across the Mapletree Property business verticals to ensure optimal handling of all Landlord claims and investigate all issues, which includes evaluation of all business units incidents and claims.
  • Provide directive to Mapletree Legal & Property Management Teams with assistance to filing third party Tenant and/ or Vendor liable claims.
  • Analyzes, identifies and administers various Property and Casualty insurance claims including reporting and processing of claims to TPA and/ or insurance broker/ carriers.
  • Coordinates the administration of claims with insurance brokers claim department, adjusters and Third Party Administrators (TPAs) along with Mapletree Group Insurance (Singapore and US); liaises with Asset Managers, Outsourced Property Managers and other departments and facilities to gather claim related documentation for discovery and related investigations.
  • Determining the validity of claims based on the specific insurance policy coverage.
  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of claims production.
  • Evaluate all new claims and administer all data integrity into claims tracking portal and manage communication to VP, Insurance and Business Unit Heads to monitor all claims exceeding selected policy deductible/retention and ensure timely closure.
  • Manage all outstanding Property & Liability claims and coordinate with VP, Insurance and Asset Managers to facilitate same.
  • Work alongside Mapletree Internal Audit and Finance teams with assistance to perform regular quarterly claims audits for US verticals when needed.
  • Monitor effectiveness of all programs and provide support to all open claim file reviews and manage all payment cycle to ensure compliance to all contract requirements.
  • Design and maintain panel of investigators to use all TPA and prepare reports for monthly chargeback for all business units.
  • Analyze all claims to ensure optimal quality and prepare reports for various business units and monitor all chargeback expenses and provide report to VP, Insurance and Business Unit Heads.
  • Perform investigation on all reserve increases and perform regular review of all claim issues.

  • Provide all claim instructions to various business units and recommend improvements in processes to increase proficiency and supervise effective resolution of all claim inquiries.
  • Schedule all internal and external audits on all claims issues and supervise processing of all billing issues.
  • Oversee all electronic claims reporting using Mapletree claims portal and evaluate all self-insurance applications and prepare claims reports.
  • Analyze all claims and identify all risks and ensure processing of all claims as per company policy.
  • Coordinate Proof of Loss Property settlements with authorization and sign off from Business Unit Heads.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of related professional experience with at least 7 to 10 years of experience working in similar role.
  • Fluent in insurance process, including negotiation, reserving, and liabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, knowledge use of Visio preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effectively complete tasks with competing priorities
  • In addition, exposure to real estate or property management is helpful, but not a requirement.
  • Must have the ability to thrive is a process-oriented atmosphere that is fast-paced.
  • Work well in a team environment although you have clearly identified responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under a high volume work environment and make key decisions.

Compensation Data

$100,000 - $140,000

This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the indicated state’s Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful applicant, in the state of hire, might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be performing the role from the indicated state of hire. Similar positions located outside the indicated state will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by the Pay Transparency Law enacted in the state of hire. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, relevant skills, training and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
