Senior Manager, Finance, US (Based in New York, USA)

The Role

You will manage a small staff of Accountants and be responsible for the review of accounts prepared by property managers/operators/outsourced agents for the US Commercial portfolio as well as management reporting and coordination with the Singapore MIT Finance team.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Review of financial statement, trial balance and general ledger details, prepared by outsourced service providers and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness on a US GAAP basis
  • Ensure timely month-end closing, inter-company reconciliation, preparation of monthly management reporting, monthly bank reconciliation and audit schedules. As well as review of these schedules when prepared by staff
  • Prepare/review monthly IFRS financial conversion for group consolidation 
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliation, ensure all inter-company transactions are properly recorded
  • Ensure intercompany liabilities, such as, commissions and management fees (expense on properties and revenue on US Management Co.), are being tracked and paid timely
  • Review of yearly budget submitted by asset management team, bi-annual forecast 
  • Review monthly actual vs budget variance analysis prepared by asset management team
  • Prepare monthly flux analysis (MTM income statement analysis)
  • Assist the Asset Management team with preparation of monthly presentation, as necessary
  • Assist and manage certain aspects of the budget and forecasting exercise. 
  • Detail review the monthly US Management Co. financial reporting package and provide comments and guidance in current US Management Co. Accountant
  • Track and help manage US Management Co. recurring critical payments
  • Track US Manco fixed assets and perform an annual fixed asset count and depreciation review 
  • Calculate various performance metrices assigned portfolio and communicate with respective asset manager if ratio is not in line with lease agreement, as necessary 
  • Ensure all payment requests comply to the Delegation of Authority and Policies and process payments timely and accurately
  • Act as a liaison between US and headquarters' counterparts in Singapore as well as to communicate with many levels of Senior Management
  • Assist with interim and annual audit preparation, coordination and required deliverables
  • Assist with Control review and Internal Audit exercises
  • Adhere to internal control and compliance (in respect of delegation of authority, procurement policy and other internal policies and SOPs) 
  • Assist with handling of certain tax matters (such as corporate tax and any other applicable taxes) including preparation of tax computation or working closely with the tax team on tax computation and filings, and attending to tax queries from the tax team

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy and/or an Advanced Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with 3 to 5 years in a role as a people manager within a Finance team
  • Extensive experience in finance operations
  • Well versed in US GAAP, IFRS and US Tax regulations
  • Hands-on with good eye for details, able to communicate effectively to various parties and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates with SAP/BPC experience preferred
  • Candidates with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications preferred

Compensation Data

$120,000 - $170,000

This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the indicated state’s Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful applicant, in the state of hire, might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be performing the role from the indicated state of hire. Similar positions located outside the indicated state will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by the Pay Transparency Law enacted in the state of hire. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, relevant skills, training and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
