The Role
This position will be responsible for MLT Group forecasting and budgeting and the evaluation of actual results against forecasts and budgets/targets. You will also be leading the financial modelling, simulations, and variance analysis, define and identify business requirements and reporting them to senior management. You will independently prepare top quality presentations and analysis for strategic decisions/topics, interpret, evaluate, and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for forecasting/budget exercise and analysis reports at the Group level for reporting to senior management.
- Review consolidated forecast NPI (cash basis) and variance analysis. Attend APS meeting.
- Review consolidated rolling forecast P&L and supporting schedules (taxation, other trust exp, mgt Interco and fees in units, etc). Analyse NPI by country, DI/DPU trend/movement and prepare DI/DPU report.
- Develop the MLT Group annual budget targets by partnering with senior management and business units.
- Review quarter Board slides and extracts of forecast DI by country for the income hedging plan.
- Responsible for preparation of forecast and budget presentation materials for senior management, including underlying key assumptions/drivers, trend analysis and potential scenarios
- Set Budget timeline, master template and instruction to countries. Review BPC consolidation journals entries and subgroup and MLT Group levels, country level variance analysis. Compute DI/DPU, prepare Board slides/workings. Review NPI by property, acquisition/divestment and PAT by country to Risk Management team. Review MIPL reporting and handling Q&A.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, including the implementation of new processes, systems, e.g. Power BI dashboards.
- Analyse 5Y forecast same store NPI by country, key assumptions, unusual trend and potential up/downside risk. Detail workings on Opex, other trust expense, borrowing cost and tax. Assist in scenario planning
- Support any other ad-hoc projects or implementation such as Tagetik as required.
Job Requirements
- Chartered Accountant with Degree in Accountancy, Finance or ACCA or other quantitative disciplines where relevant.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in advanced financial modelling, analytical skills and a strong attention to details would be highly advantageous.
- Experience in real estate or financial services industry is a clear advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Able to perform in a highly collaborative work environment and to multi-task and work under pressure, both independently and in a team, in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with financial and legal knowledge, experience in REITs listing/Private Funds set-up and capital operation.
- Possess macro view and vision of international market.
