Summary

This team is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of the Group’s investment, financial and market risks, supporting the Group and REITs’ Board and Audit & Risk Committees. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the team members to develop and implement risk management frameworks and tools to support management decision making
  • Perform risk analysts & research, and independently lead and manage projects and team to ensure successful implementation on a timely basis
  • Interact with asset, investment, treasury and finance teams to better understand and analyse risk impact and financial analysis for the company
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for investments and assets across the Group’s portfolio using a range of risk metrics and models such as VaR and stress testing approaches
  • Provide independent risk assessments on potential acquisitions and divestments
  • Review methodology and set hurdle rates for purpose of investment benchmarking
  • Undertake financial modelling and prepare quarterly risk reports and presentations for risk committees and board of directors
  • Undertake ad-hoc and special assignments/projects as and when delegated by the supervisor or Head of Department

Job Requirements

  • At least 4-8 years of working experience in an analytical or investment related role, preferably in quantitative (credit/market/liquidity) risk management in financial institutions. Experience in real estate research/investment, real estate/project financing credit evaluation, equity research, corporate finance, or property valuation will be considered too.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Real Estate or other quantitative field
  • Strong analytical background (quantitative/qualitative) including ability/willingness to use statistical/risk methodologies and financial models such as scenario analysis/stress-testing, VaR and Capital Asset Pricing Model etc
  • Inquisitive and interest in research (macro/market) & problem solving
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and able to multi-task across various projects and timelines
  • Keen in a career in risk management, investments or real estate
  • Excellent excel modelling skills
  • Proficiency in VBA/Python will be an added advantage
  • Other certifications such as FRM/PRM/CFA certification will be considered.
