Executive / Senior Executive, Risk Management (Quantitative) (Based in Singapore)

The Role

The Investment/Financial (Quantitative) Risk Management team is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of the Group’s investment, financial and market risk profiles.

The team provides independent oversight of investment risk and performance to the Executive Committees, including the Group and REIT’s Board and Audit & Risk Committees.  We achieve this through close partnership with the investment, finance, treasury, asset management and leasing teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the team members to develop and implement risk management frameworks and tools to support management decision making.
• Interact with asset, investment, treasury and finance teams to better understand and analyse risk impact and financial analysis for the company.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for investments and assets across the Group’s portfolio using a range of risk metrics and models such as VaR and stress testing approaches to ensure the assets and investments are appropriately managed.
• Provide independent risk assessments on potential acquisitions and divestments.
• Manage and report on Hurdle rates, key risk indicators and risk profiling on an ongoing basis.
• Assist in the development of investment risk policies and frameworks.
• Undertake ad-hoc and special assignments/projects as and when delegated by the supervisor or Head of Department.
• Undertake financial modelling and prepare quarterly risk reports and presentations for risk committees and board of directors.

Job Requirements

• At least 1 – 2 years of experience in an analytical or investment related role, preferably in a real estate investment company, or financial, investment related companies
• Recent Graduates with minimum working experiences will also be considered
• At a minimum: Degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Mathematics, Statistics, Real Estate or a quantitatively inclined field
• Strong analytical background and genuine interest in problem solving and analysing investments
• Broad interest in a career in risk management, investments, and real estate
• Excellent excel modelling skills
• Good team player with a positive attitude, willingness and ability to learn quickly
• Able to work independently in a fast paced and evolving environment
• Attention to detail and able to multi-task across various projects and timelines
• Ability to work under pressure
• Candidates with knowledge of VAR (Value At Risk), Bloomberg, VBA or Python will have an added advantage.
• Other certifications such as FRM/PRM certification will be considered.
