The Role

This position will be leading the Group Financial Risk Management team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for quarterly and annual financial risk management reports at the Group’s and REIT’s reporting to senior management, Audit and Risk Committee as well as Board of Directors.
  • Make key recommendations based on findings to subdue risk factors.
  • Driver of the risk management culture, and this include reviewing and assess financial, investment as well as credit risks and establish appropriate policies and frameworks to monitor and mitigate such risks.
  • Oversee the review and analysis of new investment proposals submitted by the business units to identify and present pertinent risks and appropriate risk mitigating measures.
  • Evaluate and measure all risks which could potentially affect the organisation’s financial performance that include property market risk, treasury risk, foreign exchange rate risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, , and credit risk of project partners/third parties.
  • Review and update current investment hurdle rates, policies and frameworks to reflect new and/or changing key financial inputs, trends and practices and ensure they provide adequate risk coverage.
  • Develop and execute risk response strategies to manage financial risk exposures.
  • Monitor and report on key macroeconomic trends as well as the impact of risk exposure to feed into business/investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross divisional / regional counterparts on initiatives looking to enhance the control and governance framework for Enterprise Risk Management.

Job Requirements

  • Masters’/Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Accountancy, Finance or equivalent from reputable education institutions.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant risk management experience with at least 7 years of regional experience in property valuation or real estate investment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to engage senior leaders across functions and have prior experience managing a team.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, numerical competence, and financial analysis experience with good understanding of Value-at-Risk Models, Capital Assets Pricing Model, country risk assessment as well as Option Pricing methodologies.
  • Possess a flair in report writing, strong problem solving, presentation, project management, organizational, analytical, good interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates with professional designations/certifications such CA, CIA, FRM or PRM are preferred.
  • Real estate or fund management industry and international working experience preferred.
