Intern, Group Development Management (SG & Malaysia)

The Role

This position will be part of the Mapletree Internship Programme for the period of January to June 2024.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and synthesize development requirements including preliminary massing, schedule of areas and formulating design briefs to align with Mapletree’s development strategy. 
  • Develop feasibility studies on pipeline projects for existing and/or greenfield developments, by testing design options to ensure that requirements and parameters are met using preliminary plans, section, 3D massing and schedule of areas.
  • Be involved in the management of consultants on pipeline projects and Projects under Development, whilst liaising with the relevant authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Current pursuing Degree in Architecture.
  • Possess experience and a strong passion in design feasibility or design development in the execution of Commercial, Retail, Residential, Industrial and Logistics projects.
  • An outspoken team player with the ability to encourage the creation of solutions, in line with needs of Business Units.
  • Able to articulate design concepts options clearly and have good presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD, Sketch-up, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is required. 
  • Experience in parametric design and data analytics and is proficient in Rhino, Grasshopper, Power BI and Phyton scripting would be advantageous.
  • Possess high level of independence, cultural sensitivity, resilience and adaptability whilst demonstrating excellent leadership to drive projects/feasibility studies.
  • Seek for continuous improvement whilst consistently questioning the status quo with the key objective to value engineer an optimal solution to all aspects of the development ecosystem.
