Manager, IT Procurement
The Role
The IT Procurement Manager oversees the daily activities of the centralized technology purchasing function; reviews technology purchasing decisions, orders, and vendor contracts; assists with the ordering of materials and supplies from vendors; researches, interviews, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications; creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and performs related administrative tasks. This position should be and remain familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization’s IT goals and budget.
- Collaborate with IT teams to understand their procurement needs and priorities.
- Review all procurement requests and provide guidance to ensure compliance to the procurement policies and procedures.
- Involve in all procurement requests and ensure project plan is submitted for all tender requests.
- Maintain accurate records of IT procurement activities and contracts.
- Review all SOW to ensure that requirements, performance measurement, and duration are clearly stated.
- Obtain and review competitive bids, quotes, and proposals from vendors and contractors; discuss evaluations and review with requesters and subject matter experts.
- Assist in maintaining the IT budget.
- Conduct monthly Procurement training for new IT staff.
- Maintenance of the IT Contract Renewal system and create automations for notifications.
- Provide monthly report to Finance (Accruals and GRN).
- Provide monthly operational report (e.g. no. of POs / SOW reviewed / RFQ / Tenders)
- Maintain and update the procurement repositories.
- Lead, mentor and/or coach a small team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science with a minimum of 5 years of significant work experience working in a high volume fast paced regional office environment with high degree of responsibility.
- Experienced with software licensing and volume purchasing agreements for the major enterprise system software suppliers (e.g., IBM, HP, Microsoft, Cisco)
- Experienced in presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.
- Experienced in planning and carrying out software license audits & reconcilements.
- Certification in Software License Management a plus.
