The Role
This position will report to the Group General Counsel to be a key partner to the business teams to execute the strategy of Mapletree by providing critical legal inputs. This position will be supporting and providing advisory to Vietnam's team on all legal matters.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand the Group’s strategic objectives as an owner, developer and investor of real estate, and provide pragmatic advice and solutions to internal clients on a wide range of real estate matters.
- Provide asset management and property management support in the legal and compliance matters for the Group.
- Involved in drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction agreements, including leases, purchase and procurement agreements, property management-related documents, construction and consultancy contracts, and ensure that all transactional and operation activities are carried out in accordance with applicable state and federal legislation and regulations.
- Keep Management up-to-date with relevant changes in legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Develop legal procedures, practices and systems to minimise corporate risks while maintaining a competitive business environment.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Law.
- At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant areas, with a strong emphasis on real estate, prior in-house MNC experience is preferred.
- Familiar with the Singapore and International laws, preferably for joint ventures and real estate matters.
- Have experience with Vietnam M&A legal advisory work.
- Possess strong transactional and management skills as well as a high level of integrity.
- Possess intuitive communication and good interpersonal skills.
- Exposure to complex real estate transactions and fund structures would be an advantage.
