Senior Manager, Sustainability (Based in Singapore)

The Role


This position plays an integral role in providing environmental technical advisory within the Group Sustainability team and work closely with property/development managers to enhance asset-level environmental performance towards net zero.

Job Responsibilities


  • Work closely with Development and Property Management teams to carry out evaluation of environmental performance (energy, carbon, water and waste) of our asset portfolio globally.
  • Develop strategy and targets to enhance building environmental performance for business units.
  • Identify energy efficiency opportunities and solutions for operating assets and new developments.
  • Establish low-carbon transition plan and decarbonization pathway for asset portfolio.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with climate change and carbon advice, aligning to international best practice.
  • Develop and monitor green building certification programme and renewable energy strategy.
  • Perform gap analysis and advise business units on strategy and action plan to improve GRESB score.
  • Support the preparation of Mapletree’s annual Sustainability Report and GRESB benchmarking submission.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in M&E Engineering, building services, environmental sustainability or relevant studies.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a real estate business setting with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon accounting.
  • Strong knowledge in technical building environmental assessment and renewable energy implementation.
  • Ability to carry out energy audit Level 1 and provide oversight on Level 2 energy audit.
  • Understand building life-cycle assessment, GHG protocol and carbon footprinting.
  • Experience in sustainability assessments such as GRESB, CDP, GRESB and SBTi would be desirable
  • Track record in project management of sustainability-related initiatives.
  • Certified Energy Manager, Green Mark Accredited Professionals or equivalents would be favourable.
