The Role
This position will play a strategic thought leadership role and lead the Compensation and Benefits (C&B) team where you will be responsible for the Group’s rewards programs (across 13 markets including listed REITs and subsidiary companies) by designing, developing and implementing compensation and benefit programs in accordance with Company philosophy, statutory requirements and regulations, and to ensure competitiveness and deliver HR solutions to support the business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic contributor to HR Business Partners, Business Leaders and Senior Management team, in the area of Compensation & Benefits programs to support business strategies.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of various compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentive plans (including EVA-based incentive and Long Term Incentives), health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Responsible for approval papers and presentations to Executive Resource and Compensation Committee (ERCC) of the MIPL Group and Nominating and Remuneration Committees (NRC) of the Mapletree REITs and subsidiary companies.
- Lead the annual manpower cost budgeting exercise, including providing fully loaded manpower-related cost assumptions and conducting data analytics on consolidated manpower cost.
- Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of compensation and benefits practices against market trends and competitors to ensure competitiveness, and to provide correct and up-to-date advice to the HR Business Partners in salary budget accruals and annual manpower cost budgets.
- Manage relationships with remuneration consultants, benefits providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of services.
- Lead, manage and develop the C&B team to the required competency to deliver solutions to support business strategies, including providing guidance and support.
- Serve as a liaison for HR with Finance teams (Group, Country and REITs) to ensure accounting provisions of the various compensation programs, salary budget accruals, financial reports disclosures on staff cost as well as advise on financial implications including but not limited to tax and incentive amortization methodologies.
- Participate and lead the team in completing adhoc HR projects assigned from time to time such as system implementations or policy review.
- Work closely with the Management team on strategic HR matters, including change management, performance management, talent attraction, retention and development, HR processes and Company guidelines and programs.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in Compensation and Benefits, and at least 5 years in a leadership and team management role.
- Excellent Microsoft Office software skills, and proficiency in HRIS systems for compensation and benefits programs.
- Experience in the EVA compensation and long term incentive or share plans will be critical.
- Meticulous, numerically inclined with a keen analytical ability.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, mature, responsible and possess initiative as well as problem-solving skills.
- Able to contribute individually and through others and lead a team in working effectively and efficiently to deliver stated goals and results.
- Strong in communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with strong business acumen with deep HR technical knowledge.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
