The Role

 

This position will be supporting all aspects of compliance within the Group, and ensure that its employees are complying with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that employees understand and adhere to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and other laws and regulations, as well as existing company rules, hosting periodic seminars and other means. Keep employees aware of new laws and regulations and changes in internal rules.
  • In internal procedures such as signing, confirm whether there is any violation of laws and regulations or internal rules, and instruct employees in charge to make improvements, if necessary.
  • Prepare and operate investment committee meetings for Mapletree Investments Japan (MIJ), also take and keep minutes.  
  • Perform procedures related to MIJ and Mapletree Management Services Japan (MMSJ) as well as maintenance documents.
  • Submit required documents, etc. to relevant organizations regarding business license and other related ones MIJ and MMSJ hold.
  • Resolve compliance issues in cooperation with Group Legal Team and, if necessary, with the input of outside counsel.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff who perform compliance duties so that they can do appropriately.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and other compliance related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English (Reference: TOEIC over 800)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Word) is essential. 
  • Someone who is meticulous, committed and able to take initiative and communicate well with others.
